HKBU School of Business celebrates 62nd Commencement

16 Nov, 2021
The HKBU School of Business held its 62nd Commencement sessions on 15 and 16 November 2021, where 643 undergraduates and 715 postgraduates received their degrees.

Addressing the graduates on behalf of the University, Prof. Ed Snape, Dean of the School of Business suggested that "The world is becoming ever more challenging and unpredictable. However, you will be well-equipped to deal with this, as your HKBU education has not only provided you with the professional knowledge and skills you need; it has also helped develop the personal qualities, such as resilience, flexibility and creativity, you will need to cope and indeed to thrive."

Entering a new chapter of life, the two BBA graduate representatives, Estella Tsang and Jeremiah Lee, looked back to their four years at HKBU with a grateful heart. Jeremiah urged fellow graduates to “live a life with purpose to craft a unique and meaningful journey of your own”, and Estella encouraged to embrace uncertainties, and grasp the “golden age of ours to spend the time and energy to pursue our dream and become the brightest star in the night sky. It is always important to live in the moment.”

Speaking on behalf of the postgraduate class of 2021, Bella Indah (Master of Human Resources Management) and Chi Hin Lam (Master of Science in Corporate Governance and Compliance) were thankful for the well-organised online-learning arrangements during the pandemic. They both felt that new doors opened up and their horizons widened as a result of completing the programme. Bella from Indonesia suggested that the programme was the key to greater opportunities, enabling her to land a professional job in Hong Kong. “The class and the teaching team from diverse backgrounds have been a true inspiration to my learning experience at HKBU. Upon completion of another milestone of life, let’s take our knowledge to the world and strive for a better world tomorrow.” Chi Hin added.
