The BBA Programme Office recently co-hosted the Know ESG Game Show, an engaging and educational event that brought together nearly 30 students from various faculties. The event, held in collaboration with the CFA Institute, provided participants with a dynamic platform to deepen their understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through interactive activities and expert insights. 

The event commenced with an exciting ESG Game Show, hosted by Mr. David von Eiff (Director of Global Industry Standards, CFA Institute). This interactive team quiz immersed students in key ESG terminology, methodology, and principles, helping them understand how ESG impacts both investment practices and daily life in an engaging and enjoyable manner. Mr. Ryan Man, Associate Dean (UG Studies) at HKBU School of Business, presented special gifts from the CFA Institute to four outstanding students in recognition of their excellence in the competition. 

Following the game show, Mr. Scott Lee (Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, CFA Institute) led an engaging session introducing the CFA Institute and its ESG Certificate programme. He provided valuable insights into ESG careers and professional certifications, highlighting the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing and the opportunity for eligible participants to receive government funding reimbursement for this certification. 

The event concluded with an insightful interview session featuring Dr. Aries Wong, (Associate Director, Centre for Sustainable Development Studies) and Mr. David von Eiff, who shared their expertise on ESG and sustainability. The discussion provided participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of ESG in today’s business environment and its implications for future professionals. 

The event received high praise from attendees, who found the event both enriching and enjoyable. The collaboration with the CFA Institute successfully fostered a greater appreciation for ESG principles among students, reinforcing the HKBU School of Business’s commitment to sustainability and professional development.
