130 HKBU students have received the Belt and Road Scholarship, Scholarships for Outstanding Performance, and the Endeavour Merit Award under the HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund this academic year. Dr Rosa Tang, Deputy Director of Student Affairs, and five award-winning HKBU student representatives joined the scholarship presentation ceremony on 24 April, which was officiated by Dr Choi Yuk-lin, Secretary for Education.
The award-winning student representatives include Chow Yan-shuen Jenny (BBA Year 1 student), recipient of the Endeavour Merit Award; Ching Ray Yern, recipient of the Belt and Road Scholarship (Malaysia); Lamarche Valenzuela Marcelle Karina, recipient of the Belt and Road Scholarship (Other countries); Ten Timur, recipient of the Belt and Road Scholarship (Kazakhstan); and Leung Chi-ngai, recipient of the Scholarships for Outstanding Performance.
Established in 2008, the HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund offers five types of scholarships and awards, namely Scholarships for Outstanding Performance, the Belt and Road Scholarship, the Talent Development Scholarship, the Reaching Out Award and the Endeavour Merit Award. Over 2,000 students were honoured with these awards this year.
