The School of Business officially launched its 20th Fund Management Committee (FMC) at a ceremony attended by industry leaders, faculty members, alumni, and current BBA students, marking a significant revitalization of this special programme, now powered by strengthened partnerships with the CFA Society Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI).
In his opening remarks, Dean of the School of Business, Prof. Han Zhang highlighted the FMC's evolution from its founding in 2005 by visionary alumni donors Mr. NC Wong and Mr. Dickson Shang. The 20th FMC enters a new era, revitalized with an expanded investment mandate that moves beyond local equities to include ETFs and foreign securities, a broader student base, and a new tier of industry training.
The cornerstone of this enhancement is the new collaboration with CFA Society Hong Kong as the key education partner and HKSI as a supporting unit. This partnership will provide FMC students with direct, practical training from industry leaders, ensuring the programme remains a premier launchpad for future finance talent.
As a core component of the School’s strategy, this initiative directly complements the new undergraduate concentration in Wealth and Asset Management and prepares students for real-world investing and professional advancement.
In a strong show of support for this initiative and the School, about 30 alumni who are now working in the financial field, returned to the campus to share their experiences and inspire our current BBA students.
