The BBA Student Research Competition has been held since 2021 with the following goals :

  • To give BBA students an opportunity to present their research idea and project output in an occasion that provides visibility of their work;

  • To sharpen students' communication, visual, organizational, and presentation skills in preparation for the experience;

  • To create a platform for students to meet with industry experts in their field of interest, make important conections, exchange ideas and receive feedback;

  • To showcase students' scholarly work and to recognize and reward outstanding performance

The competitions is open to all BBA students from all concentrations. Individual submission and team-based submission with no more than 5 members are accepted.

The 2022-23 BizSpark BBA Student Research was successfully held on 3 June 2023. The event was well-received with close to 40 BBA students and academic faculties registered and attended online. 

Shortlisted teams were invited to the final round to present their works to the judges and audience on a Saturday afternoon. The high-quality presentation and creative ideas were appraised by the judges.

The BizSpark BBA Student Research Competition was successfully held on 11 June. As a new initiative to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of the School of Business, the event was well-received with close to 50 BBA students and academic faculties registered and attended online.

Prof. Edward Snape, Dean of the HKBU School of Business shared in the opening remarks that the competition attracted a total of 23 submissions across different concentrations, from Year 2 to Year 4, covering various topics such as the impact of the worldwide pandemic on digital banking, on HR management, on machine learning; the study of cloud gaming strategy, green loan, and trade war, etc. “BizSpark aims to provide an opportunity for undergraduate business students to showcase their business research work and to provide a platform to promote high quality research work at undergraduate level”.

A total of 7 teams were shortlisted to the final round and presented their research works to the judges and audience on Saturday afternoon. The high-quality presentation and creative ideas were appraised by the judges. Special thanks to the panel of esteemed judges who have provided our participants with valuable feedback. They are:
